On Teeth and Jokes

There is a powerful, dare I say overwhelming joke/truth buried on this page:

Loss of natural teeth by state

I'll leave it to wiser men than I to write that joke. In the mean time, I'm going to spend my time trying to find a site that correlates teeth loss to inter-family relationships. Somehow, I think we'll see the same list of states in the top 10.

Note to self: Somewhat surprised at Virginia's #34 ranking.

Ummm, Go Kate!

* cough *

Memo to world: Hell yea, Tivo records Grey's Anatomy. I'm like 3 shows behind, but catching up quick now that it is taper time.

OCD Game

Are you OCD? Could be. Sometimes it is hard to tell. Me? I'm pretty sure I'm going to have a problem in a few years. What kind of problems... well, let's just say I think it would be a bad idea to limit myself to just one problem. And, I'm holding out for something hard to pronouce.

In the mean time, here is an OCD Text Adventure Game. It is pretty simple, but keep at it until you win!

Memo to self: Did you lock the door this morning?

On Prairie Humor

So, I'm surfing around teh Interweb at work looking for something to keep me from, you know, working and I visit Kaus. Usually good for a short distraction. There is a link on the right to A Prairie Home Conundrum which is, I supposed, about the Prairie movie about to be unleased upon us. Deep down in the article is this little gem:

In 1985, when Time magazine called Keillor the funniest man in America, Bill Cosby reportedly said, "That's true if you're a pilgrim." A decade later, a cartoon version of Keillor forced Homer Simpson to assault his TV and shout, "Be more funny!"

Holy crap, I can still see Homer launching the attack on the TV and can't agree more. Sure I catch the News from Lake Wobegone every now and then and can't help myself but I think Homer is dead on: "Be more funny!"

Even as I type this, I almost have tears coming out of my eyes thinking of Homer attacking the TV. It was that powerful a moment.

Note to self: get out more and try to listen to a little less NPR. Know what I'm saying?

Wonder Woman Movie: Cautiously Optimistic

So, I'm sitting around the computer in senic Idaho trying not to freak out before my race. Not much else to do but surf around teh interweb looking for something to distract me. I found this:

This is the second in a series of biweekly interviews that writer Brian Michael Bendis ... will conduct for wizarduniverse.com. His second interview subject is “Buffy: The Vampire Slayer” creator and the writer/director of the upcoming “Wonder Woman” movie, Joss Whedon.

My first response was "holy fucking shit, Wonder Woman movie!" Not sure if a WW movie would be a good thing or a bad thing. I know they've been talking about it for a long time. The fact that Joss Whedon is working the script means it probably won't suck.

Finding a proper "Wonder" woman will be impossible. Over many a beer and/or other adult type beverage this question has been debated. Resolution has escaped us. I believe replacing Linda Carter will be impossible. Ideally, we'd take Salma Hayek and find a way to make her taller. But (sadly), that isn't possible and Wonder Woman cannot 5' 2".

A few years ago my answer, without hesitation was Vanessa Williams. For sure she had everything the part calls for: some acting ability, height. a great rack. Sure, some have other opinions and still others are just plain wrong. Alas, I think the role has passed her by and we must continue the search.

Let the debate rage my people. Let the debate rage.

Memo to self: what we really need is someone acting skills wrapped in the body of one of those WWF chicks, but less sleezy. If you know what I'm talking about!
